Integrative Medical Consultations

The first step toward healing is understanding the issue and exploring treatment options. Our services begin with a 45- to 60-minute consultation where you and our doctors will discuss your pet’s medical history. We will perform a physical examination and combine our findings with the patient’s history to develop the most effective path toward total well-being.

Vet acupuncture is a safe, effective treatment path for most pets. Our skilled acupunctural therapists can relieve the pain and discomfort that come with numerous medical conditions, including cancer, arthritis, immune dysfunction and neurological disorders. Ask our vets if acupunctural therapy is right for your pet.

Herbal Medicine

Our veterinarians implement Chinese herbal medicine as a practical resource for healthy and unwell patients alike. Herbal medicines can come in the form of extracts, oils, pills, tablets or fresh or dried herbs. Each contains unique properties that enhance the effects of traditional treatment methods and pharmaceuticals.

Food Therapy Consultations

With the right choices, your pet’s diet can lead to a longer, happier life. Our experts understand the energetic properties of different food options, and we can recommend the best-suited option to remedy your pet’s ailment or relieve certain symptoms.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Structural abnormalities in your pet’s body can be a significant cause of discomfort during its life. Through osteopathic manual therapy, our practitioners use a gentle hand to balance patients’ musculoskeletal systems and reduce pain caused by muscular dysfunction. Osteopathic manual therapy is a useful rehabilitation method for elderly pets, highly active patients and service animals.

Spinal Manipulation/Veterinary Medical Manipulation

Veterinary medical manipulation (VMM) is similar to chiropractic adjustment in that a practitioner gently adjusts the patient’s spine and other joints. Our certified DVMs use VMM to identify dysfunctional components of your pet’s body and restore their proper range of motion.

Veterinary Medical Aromatherapy

Veterinary medical aromatherapy can be beneficial for a wide range of patients. Our expert practitioners use essential oils in a safe way to soothe patients, prevent nausea, encourage regrowth of fur, elevate mood and promote a healthy immune system.

Pain Management and Rehabilitation

Your pet’s road to recovery after an injury or operation will be unique. We apply rehabilitation methods to ease patients toward a functional life. Our approach to vet rehabilitation seeks to manage pain and provide mobility support for older patients and those recovering from surgery or soft tissue damage.

Healing Touch for Animals

At the Lake Huron Vet Clinic, we believe true healing requires treatment of both the body and mind. Our Healing Touch for Animals treatment philosophy strengthens the bond between recovering pets and their owners. We practice compassion to remedy illness, injury or trauma and foster positive relationships between our patients and their owners. This method can build confidence in animals undergoing training before competitions or ensure a peaceful end of life transition.
